Zenith(ZENITH) luxury watches
Founded in 1865, Zenith is a renowned Swiss manufacturer of in-house movements. At the 1900 World's Fair, the Zenith movement used in a new pocket watch won a gold medal. In Japan, Zenith has long been popular, having been used in pocket watches worn by Japanese National Railways employees in the early Showa period. In the 1940s, Zenith developed the masterpiece movement, the Caliber 135.
In 1969, Zenith was acquired by American Zenith Radio and ordered to temporarily cease production of mechanical watches. However, engineer Charles Vermot defied the order and hid drawings and molds that were to be destroyed in the attic of the factory, preserving them for future generations. In 1978, with the return of Swiss capital, the company resumed production of mechanical watches. Since then, watches equipped with the El Primero and Elite movements have become its main products, and many of its creations have made their mark in the watch industry.
